The Work and Us

The Work and Us is a participatory inside-outside research collective that centers the diverse experiences of incarcerated people and challenges prevailing state and advocate-driven perspectives on prison reform. We do so by  developing the capacity of imprisoned people to engage in data collection and analysis around issues of importance to them. We engage in political education, research skills training, and deep relationship building to support imprisoned people to analyze their conditions and the prison system itself.

As a co-founder of this project, I have served as a project lead and co-research director, overseeing research design and analysis, including data management and workflow, and have contributed to grant writing, onboarding, and hiring.
